Well the end of the month is here and I have to give myself a pat on the back for keeping up with what I set out to do this month. I wanted to scrap and blog more and judging by the ticker I kept....I did just that. WOW!

I need a rest

When Nan was in the hospital, I took my DS up for a visit. He took off his winter coat and big boots, and crawled into bed with her saying "I need a rest" and he shut his eyes.

I asked her for a pic, and to my surprise she said I could.

The journalling kinda said it all so I didn't add a title.

"You just had to crawl into bed with Nan

You told her that you needed a rest

How could she resist

when I took this picture

in my heart I knew it would be the last.

And although it makes me sad

it makes me happy to see her eyes

I miss her eyes"

This LO was done as a scraplift from "Love is in the details" of a LO done by Nic Howard....The original was WAY better, but I really do like how this one turned out.

WOW! Camera stuff is really really expensive.

but i have a little story to share

I purchased a clear lense cap....I was told that it would ultimately protect my lense from scratches and such....so I bought one. $40.00 the stupid thing cost me. So I only bought one at the time....The polarized lense cover....it was like $100.00 (yeah right)

WELL

I was in the states this weekend. And I purchased a clear lense cover for my second lense

$10.00

and I got 2 polarized lense covers.....for 20.99 each

THEN

I bought a 4GB card and a card reader for my computer.

in total it cost me less than $100.00

WOW!!!!!

and why do I shop in Canada? Really it makes no sense to me

Even with paying the tax coming across the border we still saved $$$$

dt reveal

Here is my reveal from the LCOM DT kit for March 2010

My DS helped me with this one....he is a Thomas NUT and did such a great job painting me a Thomas to go on the Layout!

Mini albums are always my fav.....and I wanted to do a spring one....note to self...doing a mini without the pictures to go along with it....NOT EASY....

I am totally in love with this LO, I just love the colours for some reason....typically I am not a pastelly person. I even hand drew the clouds.....WOW! I'm really stepping outside the box!

I have just downloaded the font "1942 report" and OMW

DDDDAAARRROOOLLLL

I just love it! My scrappy friend Melissa hooked me up with this great font.

She adds typerwriter font to her LO's and it is so beautiful! Her's is from a real typerwriter....but since I am already smooshed into my scrappy space it would be a little much to try and cram a typerwriter in here too. LOL

For the Christmas show at my Ds's school they sang "The Reindeer Pokey"

it was so cute to watch....

They used their hands for the antlers....had little puffs of white for tails, brown mitts for hooves, and little red felt circles for noses.

His teacher had sent home a note one day asking me to cut out 55 red circles the size of a Toonie for the class. So I sat down and cut out all 55. By the time I was done, my thumb was numb....and was numb for almost a month afterwards. Now 3 months later when I use scissors to cut things, the numbness keeps coming back. LOL ..... only me

i'm a nerd

First I have to say

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!

I am like a teenager....I swear my inner child is screaming to get out.

This is kind of a long story, so grab a can of pepsi, sit back and relax.

I was hearing all these people go on and on and on about these books called "Twilight"

so I asked what they were all about, and as soon as my friend Colleen said the word "Vampire" I totally shut off. No way was I reading some stupid book about vampires. I hate vampires....

Then my friend Lianne was reading the first one...it took her like a day.

and as soon as she finished the first book, she ran to the book store to get the second. I never seen a pregnant chick move so fast.

Then she convinced me to read it.

WELL

let me tell ya

I was hooked. 3 Weeks later I had finished the series....just in time for the movie to be released onto DVD....so I went and bought it. I was mildly disappointed the first time I saw it, but when I needed a Twilight fix I would turn it on. Now it is like one of my favorite movies.

Teen Vampire love story junkie.

Because I was reading the books, and the girls mom was reading the books....they began to get very interested. But we decided that we would not let watch it....just in case.

till the oldest comes home and she had watched it in school (????)

so we let all the kids watch it.....they watched it so many times....they know it by heart.

So when New Moon came out in theatres we planned the oldest DD to b-day party to be the opening weekend to see the movie.

We went, watched it and fell in love....So when her real b-day rolled around about a month later we had a little cake for her.....and I just had to make it Twilight.....

And in case you are wondering.....yes they got the DVd on opening day.....DUH

So here is the LO of her b-day party.

I really like the layout and just might have to frame it for them.

so in the end I was not satisfied with my LO, so I changed it up AGAIN

and now that I am sitting here blogging about it, I have decided I do not like the title. I am struggling with a title for this one. When it comes to me all I have to do now is change some thickers.....I gave up on the stamping my title.

Today I am working away on anther LO for the DT...and it will be my last.

I'm going to focus on scrappin' getting my cousins pregnancy journal done....

especially since she had the baby yesterday

It's a girl! Kinslee Augustine.

The Augustine is after my grandmother who passed away in January. Nanny told her she was going to have a girl....and she was right. 2 weeks early, but mom and baby are doing great.

Now I have to get signed up for Skype so I can meet her.

So I had some time today to scrap. I did a LO for the DT and one for me.

Here is my first attempt. I felt the title was lacking, so I attempted a change

I love the pearls added, and the prima button.....

but not loving the title. I think I might add the beigh cardstock that is behind the lace,

and maybe a brown font??? I'm not liking the white glimmer font.....

sick kid....day 2

ok, so today was day 2 of a sick little boy. He actually had a fever most of the day....

and was really whiny. Which totally sucked!!!! You can see the sickness in his eyes, and his lips are chalk white. Poor little guy. I hope he is better for the B-day he is invited too.

So I accomplished absolutely NOTHING in the scrappy world!!!!

Well I suppose I did a little, I got to clean up my scrappy space (a little) and put some layouts in albums....but that was it.

best march ever

The other day was so beautiful outside! Actually the whole month has just been unreal. Typically March is nasty in these parts.....but not this year!!!!

So I took the boy out on his bike, and grabbed the camera quick on my way out the door.

Well since the white balance was set for inside...all the pics were blue.

So I played with this in iphoto a bit (since photoshop and I have a love/hate relationship)

and this is what I came up with

I have had the other pics fixed a bit, and they aren't so blue anymore...

But I still love how this turned out.....and feeling the need to scrap it BIG TIME

And that was the plan for today....

however

little man was home sick with a sore throat, and then got a bit of a fever today

so scrappin' had to hit the back burner....kinda

I really only had time for DT stuff....but good news

I am finished up for the month....

I love love love St. Patty's Day

Being an Irish girl....what else would you expect.

Here is my little leprechaun this morning as he was getting ready for school. He didn't get to wear his hat (as per school policy), but had to put it on to share with you all.

The shamrock sticker didn't last to long, he kept peeling it off so by the time he got to school the glue was pretty much gone. But it was on long enough to show his class. He was so proud.

Here are a couple more sneaks that I have posted over at LCOM for the DT kit.

Tomorrow I plan to have my final sneaks all ready to go.

I got a tag done....which the grunge board was a total lift from Lou in Ireland....thanks Lou....embossing powder and grunge board is a beautiful thing. Thanks for the tip. Maybe tomorrow I will get one made. I am devoting the day to finish up my DT kit so I can work on some more stuff to share here.

Here is a little present from Rob....

I just love this bag. It is a camera bag from Mimi. Inside it is all lined in hot pink....

Now this is my kind of camera bag. Often times I am out and have my camera with me, and I don't like leaving it in the car....well now I have this! I won't look like a tool strolling the isle of the Superstore carrying a big nylon camera bag and a purse.

Now I have it all in one. I have a feeling I will be taking my camera a lot more places so I can sport this awesome bag.....

it was a scrappy day

Had a wonderful day today scrappin' with my friend Chantal. It was exactly what I needed today, just to talk and relax.....and have some good laughs.

this is what I worked on, ok obviously we talked more than scrapped....but hey....I'll hopefully finish it up tomorrow. But I had to share something with you since I slacked off yesterday...and couldn't do it 2 days in a row. LOL

It was fun to work with this great acrylic album, paint and alcohol ink.....

My last step is stickles and some Heidi Swapp snowflakes....

Can't wait to have it all finished.

This was truly a great kit.

I'm going to work on a little mini album during Grey's, and maybe it is for my DT....

Guess you'll have to wait and see....

I can't really remember what it was....and I already hit new post.....oops.

Oh well, I'm here to blog for day 10.....but I have nothing to share that is scrappy.

Now I do have my DT layouts in the works.....

And I have a kit that I bought that I am going to tackle tomorrow....

I'm so excited, I'm going to hang out with Chantal at Scrapbooking Gone Wild.

I bought the kit from her forever ago and never got to it, so tomorrow is the day!!!.....

Last night and today, Rob and I got to hang out without kids....wow! It's amazing to actually get to have an uninterrupted conversation. We went to dinner last night....had tea together today.....it was so nice just to relax with him.....alone

So tonight I am cuddling up in bed with my book and 5 year old (who is sleeping beside me).

I initially had trouble getting into, but now I can't wait to get back to it!!!! "Shutter Island" by Dennis Lehane. As soon as I am done I'm gonna need to see the movie.

A little Scrapcapture sneak

Today I didn't get much scrappin done....well at least not stuff I can share.

Trying to get my DT stuff all ready to go.

So then I had the great idea of doing the Scrapcapture that Dorrie is hosting over at LCOM....but then realized that I can't share that either. UGH! So many secrets. LOL

So, here is a little sneak....I hope I don't get disqualified, but I had to share!!!!!

Well today is Tuesday, and my week just doesn't seem to be getting better.

Day 9, Blog 9 Layout 9

Monday Monday

this is kind of cheating, but not really.

I did this a couple days ago for the "products featured" segment over at Let's Capture Our Memories. So since I couldn't blog about this until after it was posted....I guess it's not really cheating.

Have you tried these iron-ons? They have texture, they are fabric....and have dimension to them. I love love love them!!!!

I just followed the directions provided..... and waited until the iron-on was COMPLETELY cooled before I removed the plastic baking.

It's that easy. Then I added some watered down acrylic paint, did a big of drippage

AND glimmer mist!!!! I love that stuff

I've been working away at my DT kit, but plan to work on a little something to share with all of you tomorrow. Just need to go print out some pics. And maybe take some too! tisk tisk

We went on a day trip with the kids, and as we were heading to Moncton....I discovered that I left my camera battery plugged in to be charged. DUH. That reminds me I should unplug it so I don't get caught again.

I love having visitors

My Nan

I have been slack in my receipt album in memory of my Nan. It was 2 months ago today that she passed away....and for some reason I just haven't been able to work on it.

I also haven't made bread....Or done much in her memory in a while. I'm just really missing her, and can't bring myself to do it. But a part of me is thinking that I am missing her so much because I have stopped doing these things.

So here I am.....back at it....remembering her

Since it's my "new thing to do" I decided to work outside the box again and give some fru fru a try. Don't you just love the tule.

This Bo Bunny line of paper was just so yummy.

This pic is of Rob's oldest DD and all the puppies we had invade our house last summer. It's hard to believe we made it through all the trials and tribulations of puppies.....

But as a family we did it!

Scrapbooking Gone Wild

When I got back into scrappin' I had to hit a store, and the closest one I could find was down in St. George. Once I stepped foot in Chantal's store I think we instantly became friends. She is just such a sweetie.

And this little cutie is coming home tomorrow from being gone for 7 whole days. I have missed him so much, I'm counting the minutes until I get to have his hugs and kisses. simple and cheap

You looking for a simple and cheap layout....well look no further.

Here I used a piece of CS, and masked off 2 areas and sprayed with Glimmer mist.

Then I stitched around these areas, and added the pictures

Used some thickers for my title and some white cardstock for journalling.

Then I used my favorite punch to make it look like it was torn from a notebook.

Give it a try, see how cheap you can do a layout.

Day 2

I wanted to play a bit today and maybe teach myself something in the process.

After watching the ever inspiring Donna Downey, I decided to give it a try myself.

I have a canvas album just waiting for me to get to it, but wanted to try out some paint techniques on paper rather than the canvas pages by Prima.

I'm totally stoked to get working on it.

I used paint and a water bottle as my background

charcoal pencil for the journalling

and a ribbon to make the flower. (this turned out better than I thought)

Day 2 Blog 2 Layout 2

The month of March

Ok, so this is the beginning of my 3 month term with the Design Team for Let's Capture our Memories.....and I am so pumped!

Now I don't want to get carried away by saying that I will do a layout a day and blog about it everyday.....but I am going to try and do it more than usual.

So to start things off here is layout from the 52 sketches club over at LCOM....This is the sketch for week 9 by Natalie. so here is what I came up with.

I have attempted the drink stain again....and I think it turned out a bit better. This one actually looks more like a drink stain than a circle. Maybe I should have had the kids do it....no one can put a drink stain like them.....oh yeah....there is a big difference between cardstock and an expensive coffee table. LOL

Can't wait to see how much I accomplish this month, both in scrappin' and bloggin'
