Halloween 2009

We had 2 Halloweens this year. Since Rob's oldest had to go in costume to her youth group, we dressed the other 3 up to go to my Grandparents house for a little trick or treat.

Left to Right: Rob's oldest as "Bella" from Twilight, the middle one as a "dead pirate" My DS as "Diego" and Rob's youngest as a vampire.

5 minutes before we were to go out on actual Halloween, DS got his costume dirty....so we had to dig out his police costume that he got from Grampy for Christmas last year.

He literally RAN from house to house....And I'm going to be sick from all the candy I stole from him....he's doing up the appearance notice as we speak!!!

The kids have stopped here, so I'm going to shut everything down and hit the hay!!!!

This weekend I went to the Let's Capture our Memories Crop. It was a great day (I only went on Saturday), with loads of laughs!!! What a great group of girls, and sooooo much talent.

I did one layout, and got a head start on another....which still needs journalling.... Go figure, I always struggle with the journalling. This layout is of me and my boys. The pics were taken back in 2007, and I'm ashamed to say one of the few pics I have of DS and I. I can't take all the credit, the girls at my table gave me a hand to make it just right.

snow? already???

Ok, so waking up to snow the other day was OUBER depressing! The kids are now wearing hats and mitts, and I've entered freezing mode. I will be cold now until...well I don't know when. If next summer is anything like last....I'll be cold forever. BLECK

Last night I sat down to scrap, and I just couldn't seem to wrap my head around anything. Each picture I looked at and each project I tried to tackle just wouldn't come together. So I gave up!

Now onto the the big WOW moment from last night.....if you haven't watched Grey's from last night you might not want to read on....But what was up with the latest victim to be put on the chopping block? I was shocked, it didn't really upset me as she is not my favorite character. The past couple years she has really become annoying.... And the big question running through my mind is, "who is going to be the next cardio doc?" Are any of the other wonderful characters who we have all come to love going to walk the plank?....I'm tempted to read the teasers online, but I'm trying not to.

Who would you love to see stay??? Or go???
I'm voting for nobody else from SG to leave....but would love a couple good additons to pop up and spark up the story line.

Mommy I'm going to be sick

So I got my little munchkin back today....it felt so good to hold him in my arms and give him hugs and kisses. We had a little excitement on the way home, DS told me he was going to be sick....why is it that kids never give you enough time to pull the car over???

It went EVERYWHERE! Projectile.

It was even way under the seat in front of him. So I had to take him out of his seat, strip him down and lay his jacket on his car seat and then cover him in mine.

Needless to say I am doing laundry tonight.

Once we got home and cleaned up, Hunter and I took my Nanny her birthday present.

Below is a layout I did for my nanny, who has been fighting Cancer for a year now.

Thankfully she has recently been told that she no longer needs to continue with the Chemo which was so hard on her, she is getting stronger everyday.

This picture was taken on Mother's Day last year (2008) along side my mother, this was just a couple months before nanny was diagnosed.

I love my nanny, she is a angel. What a kind woman.

So today I attempted to make her bread....it didn't go as well as the first time. The yeast wasn't rising very well, then once I made the bread it too was taking to long to rise again. Finally it was all risen, and I didn't have time to make it before I went to get DS. So by the time I got home....it was a mess. Oh well, I still made it and I'm sure the kids will eat it this week. LOL

Today I must have been feeling like Susie Homemaker, cause I also made a Cherry Pie (my favorite), Oatmeal choc chip muffins, and Stew with Dough boys. YUM!

We officially have enough food ready in the fridge for the whole week.

Should be an easy week.....at least as far as meal preparations goes.

So I've blabbered on long enough, time to settle in for some sleep. Back to school and work tomorrow!

The mystery has been revealed

This week over at Let's Capture Our Memories, Tina hosted a wonderful challenge. It was a mystery challenge and each day she revealed another piece to the layout. Come Friday....layout complete. Well, since I like to take on more than I can handle, I decided to do two layouts. One which is pretty bang on (winter)to her sketch and the other a little modified (summer).

I got a little creative with the "bundled up" layout, I made the brads into snowballs, and even made my own mittens. I am however thinking of adding some navy blue stitching around the patterned paper.

This layout was an attempt to add some techno mombo jumbo to it. Notice the heart on the right hand side. As some of you know, I love texting.....so it was fun to add.

This weekend was really quiet around here with no kids. And I have to admit now that Rob is back to work, I'm lonely. Luckily my dear friend Stephanie took pitty on me and we went to see the new Jennifer Anniston movie tonight!!!! yeah!!! It was a good movie. Not the kind of movie I would run out and buy, but I liked it.

Last night Rob and I saw "Couples Retreat", it was really funny (will definatly watch it again, but probably won't buy it.). Then we had plans to go to dinner after, but both of us were sick.... Neither of us have felt great the past few days. So we came home and we were both asleep by 10pm. Then today we lounge in bed all day! It was so awesome. We had nothing to do all day but just chill out.

under the weather

No wonder I'm feeling under the weather with weather like this!  

So how about some warm jammies and comfort food.  I could sure use some warm freshly made chocolate chip cookies right now....with a glass of really cold milk.

Today my little boy is going away for the weekend with his dad for 5 days.  I'm going to miss him so much.  You would think that I would take advantage of the break, but to be honest, I don't.  I just miss him so much that I tend to mope and accomplish NOTHING!  Not even scrappin.  But hopefully the Mystery sketch challenge that I'm playing will keep me going.

2 more days until the long weekend, I'm hoping for some sleep!  Wish me luck

I got caught trying to cheat

Ok, so on Sunday I decided to upload a few pics for posts this week. That way they were saved in the drafts, and all I had to do was add some words. (Makes my night a lot less hectic and I get my blogging in)

well.....when I posted yesterdays and todays, it put it under Sundays date. Grrrrr....now it looks like I did 3 posts on Sunday! Oh well, maybe nobody will notice.....

9 Puppies?!?!

This has to be one of my all time fav layouts, probably because it's one of my favorite all time pics of my DS. It was taken a year ago, and wow! time sure flies. I remember him looking so grown up, I fear how grown up he is going to look in his kindergarten pics coming up at the end of the month.

This layout is missing something though....just can't put my finger on it to finish it off. Maybe 3 little brads by the middle pic, just to the right of it above the journalling.....

must give that a try?!?!

So this weekend, we are not going away. Our dog which we adopted in May is going in to be fixed. When we got her, she was pregnant and we didn't know it. 9 puppies and a lot of poop later, we are down to just one puppy.

And here is BEN. Ben is being a bit of pain.....I thought toilet training DS was hard, that was a piece of cake compared to a puppy. Plus yesterday he kept Rob up all day while he was trying to sleep after a night shift. Poor Rob didn't get much sleep!

Don't let his cuteness deceive you, he is a little terror!

It's Monday, and back to work. UGH!!! Now the countdown begins to the long weekend. Hunter will be with his dad, so it's not going to be overly exciting....unless we go away. I'm thinking Bangor to start Christmas shopping. I am so far behind.

A rainy Sunday

What a dreary day. Rob was sleeping after working a night shift and DS went to a movie with Grampy, so I took a

dvantage and did a page. I love these papers by Rusty Pickles that were a gift from my friend Tracey. I have had so much fun with them. Last night I did a couple layouts also, but I still have the dreaded journalling to finish up before I can post.

We took the kids up to the balloon festival in September and they had a lot of fun at the fair. We didn't, it was so expensive and only a few rickety rides. Probably won't go back to that fair again.

This is layout is done from the same line of paper of our trip to Laconia on the Hayabusa back in 2008. What a fun trip heading down to New Hampshire on the back of a bike.

Trying to get back into it

This has been such a journey for me. After leaving scrapbooking for 2 years, trying to get back into it has been such a challenge. First, so much has changed it's like starting all over. But I have all this stuff to use up. Well I must confess, I have been buying stuff. And my next venture is going to be to reorganize my albums that I have now, which will also include the pricey venture of switching over to D ring. I keep telling myself I have to be crazy, but I am still going for it.

Here is a little altered album I did a few weeks back for a DT challenge. I didn't get the position on the DT, but I loved having a deadline. This was made from an old pair of the kids jeans that had a tear.

The next is a layout of my son a couple years ago. He had just woken up and wanted bubbles, at first he was so tired, but soon he had a big grin on his face. Here I used some paint, and glaze to give the grunge board a look of bubbles.
